While Prof. Scheer wishes to promote literacy among politicians, Prof. Dirk van den Boom reponds and argues that such capabilities are not even within the scope of the issue.

In my opinion, literacy is exactly the issue — but it probably is much more important that voters become literate enough to make rational decisions (rather than that, say, a politician might be trained in “online” literacy in order to be better able to manipulate the masses).
